Overcome Challenges with Fuel Level Sensors: Achieve 100% Accuracy

Introduction

Fuel level sensors play a crucial role in providing accurate information about the amount of fuel in a vehicle's tank. These sensors are instrumental in ensuring that drivers have reliable data on fuel levels, helping them make informed decisions about refueling and preventing the risk of running out of fuel unexpectedly. The accuracy of fuel level sensors is paramount for efficient vehicle operation and management.

Customer Pain Points
  • Fuel Issued vs Refill: There's a possibility of fraud where the paid amount wasn't utilized to refill the tank, and instead, the fuel was diverted elsewhere or not dispensed properly.
  • Fuel Drain or Pilferage: Without proper monitoring, there's a risk of fuel theft or unauthorized use of the vehicle leading to a decrease in fuel levels without the manager’s knowledge.
  • Live Tracking & Driver Monitoring: Without live tracking capabilities, fleet managers or individuals overseeing multiple vehicles have limited or no real-time visibility into the whereabouts and activities of their vehicles. This lack of visibility can lead to inefficiencies in managing schedules, routes, and vehicle utilization.
  • Expense Management Automation: Automating expense management within transport operations brings efficiency, accuracy, and real-time visibility into expenses, empowering managers to make informed decisions, control costs, ensure compliance, and streamline the reimbursement process for employees.

Installation Challenges
  •  There was no room for sensor installation on the tank due to the zigzag shape.

  •  DA 11-1971- Error in the last few liters of refill due to air entering the tank while refilling.

  •  One of the vehicle's fuel efficiency decreased.

Installation Solutions
  • We installed the Fuel Level Sensor somewhat evenly, since our sensor is dynamic, we got 100% accuracy in this case as well.

  • After several tests and data analysis, we found that there was air in the tank, so we solved it with the help of the Belarus tech team.

  •  After updating the latest software for the sensor it is showing accurate data

Outcome or Benefits
  • Accurate Fuel Level Monitoring: A fuel level sensor provides accurate readings of the amount of fuel in the tank. This helps managers plan their refueling stops effectively and avoid running out of fuel unexpectedly.
  • Improved Efficiency: With precise knowledge of fuel levels, managers can optimize their routes and see driving habits to improve fuel efficiency, saving money in the long run.
  • Enhanced Safety: Accurate fuel level information contributes to safer driving by preventing situations where a vehicle might unexpectedly run out of fuel, especially in critical situations or remote areas.
  • Theft Prevention: Fuel level sensors can also help in monitoring fuel usage, reducing the risk of theft or unauthorized use of the vehicle.
  • Early Problem Detection: Sensors can detect anomalies in fuel levels or issues with the fuel tank early on, allowing for timely maintenance or repairs, thus reducing overall maintenance costs.
  • Expense management: Automation of expense management in transport helps streamline various processes such as tracking fuel expenses, toll charges, maintenance costs, and other expenditures related to vehicle operations.
